Job Description
Position : Compliance Officer Location : Trivandrum, India / Work From Home Employment Type : Full-Time About the Role We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to oversee the organization's regulatory compliance framework and ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies and internal controls. The role will have a strong focus on AML/CFT, KYC, regulatory compliance, compliance monitoring and regulatory reporting. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and maintain the organization's Compliance Management Framework. Ensure compliance with applicable UAE/CBUAE regulations and regulatory requirements. Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization. Conduct regulatory compliance reviews and gap assessments and recommend corrective actions. Develop, review and update compliance policies, procedures and internal controls. Oversee AML/CFT compliance, including KYC, CDD, EDD, UBO verification and ongoing customer due diligence. Monitor sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening requirements. Review and oversee Transaction Monitoring activities and escalation of suspicious transactions. Support investigation and reporting of STR/SAR and other regulatory reports, where applicable. Maintain compliance records, regulatory obligations and evidence of compliance. Conduct periodic compliance monitoring and testing to identify control weaknesses. Coordinate with internal/external auditors and support regulatory examinations. Track compliance issues, remediation plans and ensure timely closure. Prepare compliance reports and dashboards for senior management and the Board. Support customer protection, complaints handling, conflicts of interest and fair-treatment requirements. Provide compliance training and awareness to employees. Work independently as a second-line compliance/control function and escalate significant compliance risks appropriately.
Skills
3+ years of relevant experience in Compliance, AML/CFT, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance or a similar role. Strong practical knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC, CDD, EDD and UBO requirements. Experience with sanctions, PEP screening and Transaction Monitoring. Hands-on experience in regulatory compliance monitoring and gap assessments. Experience developing, reviewing or updating compliance policies and procedures. Knowledge of regulatory reporting and compliance documentation. Strong understanding of UAE/CBUAE regulatory requirements is preferred/required. Banking, financial services or insurance industry experience is preferred. Strong analytical, communication, documentation and stakeholder-management skills. Professional certifications such as CAMS/ACAMS, ICA or equivalent will be an advantage.
