Job Description
Way is building the first automotive services ecosystem, connecting businesses with customers who use Way for cash-back automotive benefits. Way provides customers with opportunities to save on services including parking, fuel, car wash, insurance, and repair & maintenance. Way's India marketing organization is scaling into a full-funnel growth engine spanning organic discovery, B2B demand generation, consumer/omnichannel marketing, and local partner marketing — supporting new business lines beyond email, SEO, and SEM. The Vice President, Marketing – India will take full ownership of this organization: a senior, hands-on operator who can run a multi-disciplinary team of roughly 35–40 people day-to-day, while partnering closely with global marketing leadership in the US to execute on company strategy. This position reports to the EVP, Marketing based in Silicon Valley. You will be the point of accountability for marketing delivery in India. You will manage four functional pillars — Organic/SEO-GEO, Business (B2B), Consumer/Omnichannel, and Local Marketing — plus a cross-functional team supporting market research and content. You will oversee the operating cadence, close open roles, and raise the execution bar across the entire team. Key Responsibilities Organizational & People Leadership Own the India marketing organization end to end, including the P&L, headcount plan, and delivery against global marketing strategy. Directly manage and develop four functional leads — Organic Marketing (SEO/GEO), Business Marketing (B2B), Consumer/Omnichannel Marketing, and Local Marketing — plus a small team of cross-functional individual contributors. Assess team capabilities, org structure, open roles, and define the optimal org structure and staffing levels to meet annual plan targets. Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development for the India marketing organization. Act as the primary India counterpart to the US product and growth marketing team, ensuring tight alignment on priorities, messaging, and reporting. Strategy & Operations Translate global marketing strategy into quarterly roadmaps, weekly execution plans, and delivery reviews for each pillar, with clear KPIs and accountability. Own the India marketing operating rhythm: all-hands, leadership reviews, and KPI reporting to global stakeholders. Bring rigor and a data-driven, decisive operating style to a fast-scaling, multi-vertical business (parking, car wash, EV, gas, and other ecosystem services). Co-author the overall Way marketing plan with the EVP Marketing and report quarterly on strategic initiatives and success metrics. SEO / Organic Growth (SEO/GEO) Lead the team that drives SEO/GEO rankings, organic revenue, app store rank, backlinks, and affiliate revenue across Google, Bing, generative AI surfaces, and app stores. Ensure the technical SEO and SEO/UI-UX content teams have the resources and cross-functional support to achieve their goals. Personally audit the quality of SEO and AI-search visibility work. B2B Marketing (Business Demand Generation) Own MQL volume, deal acceleration, business supply, and SaaS revenue targets. Oversee HubSpot marketing operations, list building, thought leadership and content, sales materials, customer collateral, and marketing operations teams, while prioritizing multiple departmental requests. Build brand visibility with strategic partner segments, including credit unions, banks, insurance companies, and gig-economy companies. B2C Marketing (Consumer / Omnichannel) Own consumer revenue, member growth, service usage, app downloads, brand awareness, and engagement. Oversee the evolution from email marketing to true omnichannel marketing, including Klaviyo-based lifecycle programs, paid social/ads at scale, and unified customer data. Direct social media, B2C email, and digital marketing teams supporting the consumer demand generation engine. Local Marketing Oversee the creation of our internal local marketing service agency that will provide ecosystem value creation for Way's network of car washes, parking garages, and repair shops, including partner revenue, customer lifecycle value, and LTV. Ensure listing and directory management, local content, location-based campaigns, and customer websites are completed with accuracy and efficiency. Own customer satisfaction and churn KPIs for the local marketing book of business. Agency, Vendor & Budget Management Act as the command center for external agencies and vendors across SEO, content, and digital channels — set direction, review output, enforce timelines, and raise the bar on quality. Negotiate contracts and agreements with agencies and vendors to ensure favorable terms and adherence to budget. Track and manage the India marketing budget across all four pillars, ensuring spend is allocated to the highest-impact initiatives. Cross-Functional Programs Oversee the cross-functional team responsible for market research, content editing, and the management trainee program. Ensure cross-vertical deliverables (research, content, reporting) are prioritized appropriately across the four pillars.
Skills
20+ years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 8+ years leading multi-function marketing teams (SEO/organic, B2B/demand generation, consumer/lifecycle, or local/partner marketing) at a national or global scale. Proven experience running a marketing organization end to end — budget, hiring, vendor/agency management, and cross-functional stakeholder management — ideally as a Head of Marketing, VP Marketing, or equivalent country/regional leader. A true marketing generalist with deep, hands-on strength in at least one core discipline (SEO/organic growth, B2B/demand generation, or consumer/omnichannel) and working fluency across all of them. Track record of scaling a brand's organic traffic, lead generation, or consumer revenue meaningfully at a national or global level. Working proficiency with core marketing platforms such as HubSpot, Klaviyo, Google Search Console/Analytics, and standard SEO tooling (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush); able to direct teams using these tools even if not the daily hands-on operator. Experience managing teams in India while partnering with leadership based in other geographies (US/global); comfortable operating across time zones. Decisive, structured, and execution-obsessed; able to call out weak strategy, fix it, and ship — while also building and mentoring a growing team. Comfortable with occasional travel to other India offices and, periodically, to the US for leadership alignment. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
