Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 4–6 years of experience in building scalable backend systems using Python and related backend technologies, along with working exposure to modern frontend frameworks like Next.js and React. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on knowledge of AI/ML technologies and will be responsible for designing robust backend services, contributing to UI development where needed, and building or integrating AI/ML-driven features into production systems. The role requires strong technical ownership, the ability to work across the stack, and a keen interest in applying AI/ML to real-world engineering problems. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs using Python (Django, FastAPI, or Flask). Architect and implement microservices, ensuring reliability, security, and maintainability. Contribute to frontend development using Next.js and React for internal tools, dashboards, or product features as needed. Build, train, and integrate AI/ML models and pipelines into backend systems. Collaborate with data science/ML teams to operationalize models into production workflows. Design and optimize database schemas and queries (SQL/NoSQL) for performance and scalability. Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following best engineering practices. Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions. Integrate third-party APIs, LLM providers, and AI/ML services into existing applications. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across backend, frontend, and ML integration layers. Collaborate closely with product, QA, DevOps, and data science teams to deliver end-to-end features. Ensure application security, scalability, and performance across the stack. Maintain technical documentation for services, APIs, and ML integrations. Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and reviews. Identify opportunities to apply AI/ML capabilities to improve product features and engineering workflows.
Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Python and backend frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask. Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architectures. Working knowledge of Next.js and React, or similar modern frontend frameworks. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.). Familiarity with message queues/event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Celery) is a plus. Understanding of containerization and cloud deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/GCP). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git). Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. AI/ML Skills (Required for this role) Practical experience building, training, or fine-tuning ML models using Python (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.). Experience integrating AI/ML models or LLM-based features (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, etc.) into applications. Understanding of prompt engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, etc.). Familiarity with ML model deployment, serving, and inference (FastAPI, KServe, TensorFlow Serving, or similar). Exposure to MLOps concepts such as model versioning, experiment tracking, and monitoring (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, or Vertex AI) is a plus. Understanding of data pipelines and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster is a plus. Qualification & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 4–6 years of hands-on experience in backend development with Python and related technologies. Demonstrated experience with Next.js/React or similar frontend frameworks. Proven experience applying Python to AI/ML use cases. Experience integrating or building AI/ML-powered features in production applications. Ability to independently own end-to-end deliverables spanning backend, frontend, and AI/ML integration. Relevant certifications in cloud platforms or AI/ML (AWS, Azure, GCP, or ML-specific certifications) are an added advantage.
